Porsche Announces Transfer of Responsibilities in PR Department

ATLANTA – January 19, 2011 — Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) announced the appointment of Steve Janisse to General Manager, Public Relations, effective February 1, 2011. Reporting to Detlev von Platen, President and CEO of PCNA, Janisse will oversee all media and public relations, as well as social media, internal communications and product placement. Janisse had led the media relations team at Porsche for the last 18 months. Prior to that, he had spent ten years of his career in various PR functions in the U.S. and Europe with General Motors and Saab.

Bernd Harling, Porsche’s GM of Public Relations for the past seven years, will remain with Porsche in a newly created function as Principal Communications Counsel. Harling, also reporting to von Platen, will mainly focus on helping to raise the visibility and enhance the relevance of Porsche among opinion shaping stakeholders in Porsche’s major markets. In addition, he will work towards an improved synchronization of Porsche’s companywide communications efforts.
