PROJECT CARS

A big part of what we do here at 9magazine is to repair, restore and upgrade our growing
fleet of Porsches, to educate our readers on how to do it themselves.

1967 Porsche 912

Unlike other 912's this Porsche doesn't
have the original 616 or 356 motor.
Nope, we took a 1976 Porsche 912E
motor (Type 4) and with very little body
modifications installed it into our
project car.  More horsepower, more
affordable maintenance costs, and
gets people talking about 9magazine!
Many thanks to Tony Bray for his help
on this project.
1975 Porsche 914

We are doing a complete restoration
on this car, all the way down to the
bare metal.  We are still toying with
keeping the 1.8 Type 4 motor, having
Jake Raby build us a monster 170hp
Type 4, or going with Renegade
Hybrids Subaru engine swap.  Only
time will tell.  We do have plans for a
stock 1973 914 rebuild down the road.
1980 Porsche 924
Turbo (931)

While this car has been pretty well
cared for before coming to 9magazine,
there are some little things we can do
to improve on it and make it better.
The car has 96k original miles, the tan
seats are still in almost perfect shape,
and runs well.  We should have fun
with this very affordable and easy to
work on 924 Turbo.

1979 Porsche 928

Some say this is the only real Porsche,
no VW parts history, some call this the
German Corvette, while others call this
the Shark...  Porsches v8 GT car is
one of 9magazine's favorite Porsches
ever!  Come long as we bring this '70
super star back to glory!
