Porsche North America CEO, Detlev Von Platen Confirms Plug-In Hybrid Caynenne & Underscores the Importance of the US Market to Porsche
At the recent Los Angeles Auto Show, FOX News reporter Jeff Flock, interviewed Porsche Cars North America, CEO, Detlev Von Platen. In this interview, the Porsche CEO claimed commitment to the US market with a quick discussion about the investment in the new PCNA Headquarters in Atlanta, and the addition of an Experience center for customers in Los Angeles.
Porsche recently broke ground on their new facility in Atlanta. The new HQ located at One Porsche Drive will house 400 employees, including 100 jobs that will be new to Georgia. In addition to corporate offices, it will also be comprised of a Technical Service and Training Center, a Conference Center and a Museum. As an industry first, the Porsche headquarters campus will feature a Customer Experience Center including a 1.6-mile test track and handling road course to showcase the capabilities of Porsche’s industry-leading vehicles.
Von Platen spoke confident in the growing demand for Porsche vehicles in the USA and underscored Porsche’s commitment to this market as the most important in the World.”Looking at Porsche, we see the damand growing for all our cars.” Von Platen also downplayed the importance of China.
In addition to his statments about the demand for Porsche cars in America, Von Platen stated that this demand should continue to grow with the addition of new models including a plug-in version of the popular Cayenne. 9 Magazine recently reported that Porsche has been working behind the scenes on this model and this interview confirms the news.
