You've got to be kidding!! My $1700.00 will go for feeding myself and wife, feeding the dogs, feeding the poor or anything but a battery. I suppose it will be labled "PORSCHE". After seeing what goes along with owning a Porsche, I am about ready to go back to Volkswagen... a dear friend and faithful companion for 40+ years! And as far, as "running with the big dogs or staying on the porch" is concerned, just a word of advice for John..."you can't out run the radio"! Happy driving big boy.

Wow, 22lbs weight reduction! This is a great advancement in batteries and will only get better and less expensive as time goes on. I look forward to putting one in my 996 turbo as soon as possible! If you want to play you have to pay!

awesome. What get weight savings. Look how much people spend on carbon fiber for weight savings then look at the price and better qualities of the battery. Worth the money!

Hummn. 22 pounds saved for $1700. For LESS than $1700, I think I could loose 22 pounds, and have fun, with a health club membership. But, I guess health conditions are different in Europe.

We should not be alarmed by the ridiculous price of the lithium battery option. Every option, spare part and T Equipment item Porsche sells is ridiculously overpriced. No wonder they had one of the worst years ever last year.

$1700 is sure pricey for a Boxster option, but for a GT3, whose gonna notice? A lot of the country doesn't get freezing wx.

I think the price of ceramic brakes are crazy. Sure, there's more performance value than a lighter battery but...wait a minute...how much are those brakes again

Early innovators always pay a premium and in doing so, they fund research to develop more reasonable priced options.

Porsche innovation and engineering is second to none. Their attention to every detail is why I love the car. For those of you crying about the price, "If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch."

Assuming the lightweight lithium-ion claims are legit, will the weekend racer or DE driver actually benefit by the 22 lb weight saving and $1700 price tag? A good set of track tires might be a better cost vs benefit expenditure.
