Goodyear Racing will be the title sponsor for the 944 Cup series for the 2012 season. Goodyear has a long and storied history with sports car racing. The 944 Cup is very proud to become a part of the Goodyear tradition.

Goodyear will offer 944 Cup racers a tire contingency program for both the Cup and Super Cup classes for two races each weekend for all Cup chapters.

What is the 944 Cup?

The Series: Dedicated to the front engine watercooled Porsche, featuring competitive and clean racing with  year end Regional and National Championships. The series, often referred to as the 944 Cup,  includes 2 classes: Cup and Super Cup.

The Cars: Front-engine water cooled Porsches including the various models of the 924S, 944, 951 and 968. A turn key ready to race Porsche can be purchased to race in the series for under $8,000.

Where: Cup Chapters range from Canada to Florida and then out to the Pacific NorthWest, visiting many of the best tracks in the country, such as Watkins Glen, VIR, Mosport, Sebring and Road Atlanta. The Cup series partners with other sanctioning bodies to provide safe and well organized events, including PCA, SCCA, and NASA.

Getting Started: Most front engine Porsches racing in PCA, SCCA  and NASA are eligible. Bring your race car, log book and race license from NASA, PCA or SCCA, meet the designated weight/horsepower limits and you’re ready to race in the 944 Cup. Don’t have a race license or a race prepared Porsche, we’ll help you with getting one.
