EVIDENCE: PDK Certain On New GT3
The launch of the highly-anticipated Porsche 991 series GT3 is rumored to be at the upcoming 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Our spy photographers recently captured the new 911 GT3 during winter testing and now more spy photos have surfaced. Thanks to a recent post in the Rennlist Forums, an unknow source posted interior photos which confirm some of the previous speculation about the car. The photos captured the interior of the new GT3 and have confirmed rumors that the new 991 Series GT3 will be equipped with the Porsche PDK automatic transmission. Although the post on Rennlist claims the PDK in the new 911 GT3 is different from what is currently available, it will still be automatic and provide lightning fast shift points.
In addition to the confirmation of PDK, the photos reveal a 9000RPM redline on the tachometer which indicate that the new Porsche 911 GT3 could feature a new or highly-modified 3.8-liter, flat-six engine delivering more than 450hp. It is still unclear whether the new GT3 will come exclusively with the PDK or will offer an optional 7-speed manual transmission.
